BEACHES

Robberg Beach borders the Robberg Nature Reserve and stretches for over 5 km towards Plettenberg Bay. It is lined with the most incredible, luxurious beach houses in south Africa. Beachy Head Drive, the road along the beach is called by the locals "Millionaires Drive" and when you visit her you know why. Robberg Beach has now also a Blue Flag Beach - Robberg 5 - with ablutions, safety guards on duty and gentle waves making it fun to dive in.

Central Beach is, as the name suggests, the most central beach of all. It is the fun beach for the whole family and many activities are offered throughout the year. This beach offers restaurants, shops, ablutions, safety guards on duty and very little waves making it the preferred choice for families with small children.

Hobie Beach, right next to Central Beach, is the beach from which all boats in Plettenberg Bay launch. If you want to have a close up encounter with whales, dolphins and seals you need to come here and join one of the daily departing boat trips. Or sit in the warm sand and watch the fisherman bring their daily catch on shore.

Lookout Beach famous for the "Lookout Bar and Restaurant" overlooking the beach has been washed away by the last storms. Nevertheless, at low tide there is still some beach left and the restaurant hasn't lost its appeal at all. It might just have become even better!

Keurbooms Beach, the longest beach of all, stretches for over 10km from opposite Lookout Beach to Keurbooms Village. Here you will see quite often dolphins surfing the waves and very little people! This is the beach for long walks, fishing from the shore or just lazing around in the sun.

Arch Rock Beach, this beach starts at "Enrico's", a great Italian restaurant in Keurbooms Village overlooking the sea and perfect for sun downers, and continues for about 2 km to Arch Rock, a rock formation in form of a large arch. It is the last of Plett's sandy beaches before the rocky coast of the Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve.

However, a few more kilometres towards Port Elizabeth awaits you the spectacular beach of Nature's Valley. This is a beautiful beach surrounded by indigenous forests, a small lagoon and an even smaller village with a great "Biergarten".

Sun * Sand * Sea

Plettenberg Bay has a number of pristine beaches of fine sand stretching for kilometres around the bay.

The warm water (not to warm but also not to cold) of the blue Indian Ocean and lots of sun invite you for a refreshing swim in the waves.

The bay is known for its year round dolphin sightings and the many whales who come here during the winter months from June to September.
